A Graduate-Student Meeting was held at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ), Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism. Serkan Şimşek, a 2023 graduate of the Department of Journalism, who works as a reporter at Habertürk TV, and academic staff and students of the Faculty of Communication attended the event, which took place on May 8, 2024, at 20:00, via the Zoom platform.

The event moderated by Head of Department of Journalism Prof. Dr. Şakir Eşitti and contributed by Head of Department of Communication Sciences Prof. Dr. Gökhan Gökgöz; Deputy Head of Journalism Department Assoc. Dr. Serhat Çoban and Assoc. Dr. Onur Tatar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Engin Çağlak and Res. Asst. Helin Öztürk.

Prof. Dr. Şakir Eşti said, “The fact that our graduate Serkan Şimşek found a job opportunity in a well-established organization like Habertürk TV is a promising example for our students currently studying. In today's meeting, we want to inform you about Serkan Şimşek's training process and employment processes in our Department, and to ask you any questions you may have,” At the event organized by the Department of Journalism, Şimşek talked about his own education, training and professional life; his student years at ÇOMÜ, his experiences at the Media Center, his entry into business life and gave suggestions to the students. The event ended with answering the questions asked by the students.
